Your North Shore Vacation
This page is presented to communicate some general information
and guidelines for planning and enjoying your stay at North Shore
Resort.
Arrival and Check-in/out: Our rental week runs from
Saturday to Saturday. Check-out time is 9:00am and check-in time is
3:00pm. This allows our cleaning staff to prepare cottages for the
next guests.
Bug Spray and Sunscreen: Be sure to bring bug spray,
especially from May through June. The mosquitoes and biting flies
can be a bit friendly. Also, be sure to have plenty of sunscreen as
a person can burn very quickly on the water.
Pets: Pets are allowed only with prior permission. Extra
fees of $40 per week or $8.00 per day apply. There is a limit of one
pet per cottage. It is expected that owners will clean up after
their pet and be responsible for any damage that the pet causes.
Boat Landing and Docking: There is a boat launch located
within walking distance to North Shore. We have a large pier that
can be used for docking your boat. Availability is on a first come
basis.
Wilderness Values: We ask all our guests to conduct
themselves in a manner respectful of the other guests. This applies
to excessive noise – especially in the evening.
Supplies and Food: North Shore does not have a store for
supplies. The nearest location for purchasing supplies is in
Watersmeet – a 15-minute drive. Be sure to plan accordingly to avoid
unnecessary trips to town.
Swimming: Swimming is allowed from our pier. However,
there is no lifeguard on duty and guests swim at their own risk. Our
policy dictates that children be supervised by an adult at all times
while on the pier, in boats or near the water.
Gasoline: Gasoline is available for sale to North Shore
guests.
Bait: We sell a variety of bait to our guests, including
minnows, nightcrawlers and leeches. Avid fishermen may want to
contact us in advance to order larger quantities or specific types
of bait.
Animals: There are numerous deer in the Northwoods. Pay
careful attention while driving through the area – especially at
night to avoid hitting deer. Also, we routinely have deer venture
onto the property looking for food. Please don’t feed the deer as it
makes them too trusting of people. This also applies to the Canada
geese. Feeding them encourages them to loiter – which is a mess to
clean up. While there are bears in the area, we don’t often see them
at North Shore. However, please pay proper attention while enjoying
the more remote areas of the Northwoods.
Cottages: All cottages are equipped with bedding and
cookware. However, you will need to bring dish and personal towels.
